Hi Wolven,
I've been giving Beta 2.0 a spin and I'm generally very impressed - no real showstoppers so far.
However, I tried the Install to USB option via the Control Panel - using an 8GB stick - and came upon a puzzling problem.
I chose the Make Wolvix Save option and the copying appeared to go across fine.
But when I tried the stick in the same PC and also in my laptop, I got a "Missing Operating System" error.
I checked the folders on the stick to make sure everything was there - I had a Boot folder containing pretty much what I'd expect, and a Wolvix folder with a ton of stuff in it too.
Any suggestions/thoughts?
Cheers for now,
Red Devil

PS Apologies for being thick - I've just noticed the Beta forum section, should've posted this there :-(

Hi reddevil62

Apologies - we have been having some trouble with the usb installer and making it bootable across varied hardware. We resolved these just after the beta went out  Roll Eyes
Please download the latest version of the wcp and try it again.

The new WCP package is in the repo now, so just upgrade (install) it from Gslapt, or use slapt-get.
Code:
slapt-get --update && slapt-get --install wcp

For manual install of packages you do like this:
Code:
installpkg name-of-package.tgz

I installed the new WCP and was able to create a USB install.  It worked perfectly for me.  My approach was to download the .tgz package and use installpkg.  I used the link in this discussion thread provided by Oithona.

I am having problems with my x-windows config (screen resolution).  I hope to solve those tonight after work.

Great job Wolven and Oithona on Wolvix 2.0.  It is my favorite.

For a long while now I've wanted to have a live usb iso and never managed it; tried it on older hunter version but no deal (I regard Hunter as one of the best live disks I ever had) anyroad, I tried earlier this year to run unetbootin and install elive but with no joy, although I was encouraged it would work if I knew how.
Today I installed unetbootin in a kubuntu enviroment and attempted to install a few saved iso files before eventually downloading the latest Wolvix Beta version which I'm happy to say I am now using to type this testimony. It installed on pen drive first go and what's more I didn't have to push start the wireless network which fired up straight away using Wifi-Radar.

Totally Brill, big thanks to Wolvix people!

Andy

ps. I'd like to have reported on your usb installation option but am happy with events as they are =)
