Hi guys, Been using Wolvix a few days now (very nice too!) - and wonder if it can be made to boot from HD .isoI can't see this option on the Slax site.Reason for wanting to do this - a "poor man's install". My laptop's HD is all NTFS apart from 70M or so - and it must keep NTFS for audio work (CL kit with no Linux drivers). Well I can put a wolvix iso there; there is some FAT32 space on the HD but only 70M or so.From past experience Knoppix / Kanotix runs from HD .iso in boot-from-iso mode about 5 times faster then CD; the wind-up time especially reduced when loading new apps. Would be nice! Is this possible??
 Thanks,brodders

I remember this from when I was working on remastering Feather Linux (Knoppix based) and it's a cool option.

You can copy the modules and directories over to a hdd and not copy the extracted file system like I describe in the howto. It would be like when you install it to a USB key, but I have no idea how to boot SLAX from a ISO file. I wouldn't be supprised if it's possible though, mabye you should ask in the SLAX forums too.

Isn't it possible to boot from a Slax/Wolvix iso by booting up with the CD and using the "slax nocd" option?

Slax/Wolvix should then look for the iso on the root partition of your hard drives.
