0. Your guide must be licensed under the GNU Free Documentation License or a similar free license.

1. Write a short introduction to what your guide is about and what should be achieved.

2. Give credit where credit is due if you're taking information from external sources, and respect copyrights.

3. Explain in detail what/how to do the steps in your guide. Don't assume that the reader is at your skill level.

4. Make you guide easy to read and follow. Try to keep things short and to the point. Highlight important information and break things up in categories, lists and sections.

5. Keep an eye on your guide for replies with corrections and questions about clarification. Edit it if appropriate and make a list the changes you've done to it.
