I reformatted and attempted wolvix too many times. I decided to just retry ubuntu. Installed in 10 minutes.

Wolvix is great, but I can see what Wolven says; it is experimental as far as installation goes so far.

Too bad, I much prefer Wolvix to Ubuntu now Sad

WooooHoooo, a Delta Wolf.  No longer just a Cub but a fully fledged delta wolf Cheesy
Sad to hear Wolvix didn't work and Ubuntu did but glad to hear a linux did work fast.  Did anyone see?  Did you manage to set office defaults and get internet and network-file-sharing?

Good luck and congrats Smiley

Nearly a year later and I try installing Wolvix on a new machine... the same problem again!!! 29% and it is stuck!!

I really don't want to have to revert to another distro like last time Sad

Kaldor

Which version of wolvix and which version of the installer (wolvix-control-panel) are you using?

I was using beta2 (Will there be another soon?) and using the HD-install (Full) option in the control panel. Why would a distro as small as Wolvix take so long to install while other distros install on the same computer within minutes?

Edit for more info: I let it hang at 29% for about 2 hours. When I returned it was still there, except the computer wasn't making any noises and the mouse didn't want to move.

K .. can you try running the control panel/installer from the command line and reporting any error messages ...

as root in a terminal type: wolvix-control-panel

Also tell us a little about your hardware...
