Module: Gobby

Description: Gobby is a free collaborative editor supporting multiple documents in one session and a multi-user chat.

This module created in response to a question from Evangineer but posted here for general use. The first three packages listed below were created by me from Debian packages as they are not available as tgz. I'll post them later. The rest are generally available from the ususal sources.

NOTE: When run, you'll get a warning that zeroconf is disabled. Fix this by 'chmod +x /etc/rc.d/rc.howl' and re-run init.

Note, i've run this application as module and installed pkg from wolvix livecd & hd install, but haven't been able to test it's networking functionality.

I spent the best part of two days trying to get this done.  I didn't think converting the debian packages, but I did have a go at converting fc6 packages after much grief compiling gobby.

Anyway the module works fine.  I've managed to run gobby for the first time, connected to a sobby server and edited a couple of remote documents.
