how do you run or use modules after installing them in livemod. all went well in the terminal window? shouldn't there be an icon in the menu or do you have to use a comand? the module was dvdauthor package converted to a .lzm file

Whether there will be an icon in the menu after the module is loaded depends on if there is a menu entry in the module/package or not. If there is a menu entry in the module it might not show before next log in, or before the menu has been updated. You can update the menu yourself with the following command as root:
update-desktop-database

If there's no menu entry you can start the program from the command line. Usually the command to start the app is the same as the program name, so I'm guessing it would be 'dvdauthor'. (Just a guess)
