I use Arch as the only OS on my main laptop (but with a nlited version of XP in Virtualbox as well, it's seamless mode is excellent)

Wolvix Hunter 1.1.0 on my old laptop dual booted with XP.

So far I've only used Wolvix 2 as a live CD, mainly on other peoples PC's. It comes in real handy sometimes.

I run two (silent) PCs at 1ghz each. No HD, just CFs. One PC boots a 700mb XP (haven't completely replaced
it yet) and the other boots with USB pendrive to Wolvix Cub or CF to DSL. I also have a CF hosting TinyMe.
All media have a small FreeDOS partition.
I try to collect portable apps that are standalone that the OS accepts, these are hard to find in linux.

On my laptop I'm running Mandriva 2009.1 lxde (since it's 64 bit)

On my desktop:
antix 8 (set to stable repos)
an antix 8 lxde respin that I'm working on (also set to stable)
and hopefully a really nice slackware derivative (currently mandriva is installed on this partition so I can test out certain ideas before I implement them on the laptop)

For the slackware distro, I've tried zenwalk, wolvix, goblinx, absolute, and vector. I always seem to have problems with vector and absolute, the goblinx installer doesn't set up home partitions, and zenwalk's latest looks like it has some issues. I'm waiting paitently for wolvix to go final as the test releases look wonderful.

I have had the same experience as you with Vector, I haven't tried Abosolute.  I couldn't figure out how to install flash on Goblinx.  It looks nice though, if that means anything.

1.  Wolvix 2.0 B2

2.  Ubuntu 9 Jaunty (with Gnome and Kubuntu installed)

3.  AntiX 8

4.  Mepis 8

5.  Zenwalk

6.  Slitaz

7.  Kongoni - I'm not using it yet but it is looking interesting...

At the moment Wolvix 2.0.0 (beta2) on my main rig with my distro hopper currently running #!CBL, I have builds of AROS knocking around on the other machines in our house.  The family PC runs Mandriva although this may get replaced with Mint and I also have XP on a netbook (out of a need to use a 3 dongle)

Regards.

Did have a Dell Inspirion 13500 running Xp but that been upgraded to 2gb ram and gifted to my girlfriend, shes not biggest fan of linux so figured at least best to have one of each in the house.

Update:  I am enjoying #!crunchbang Alpha2 on one of my machines.  It uses the Openbox window manager with the Tint2 panel.  I moved the panel to the top and added Wbar on the bottom.  It is now based on Debian instead of Ubuntu.  They are doing some nice work over there at #!.
