for those of us sometime need to "recover" forgotten windows passwords via live cd. maybe ophcrack?

Ophcrack is a free Windows password cracker based on rainbow tables.

yes.. but it requires qt4 Sad


edit: holy cow.. qt-4.5 is 118mb! scratch that...

anybody know another cracker that doesn't use qt?

250Kb sounded good, but 120Mb and i suddenly lost interest in the idea.  lol, i've asked in the Ubuntu Launchpad "Answers" forum but don't hold your breath on getting a reply lol

typical... just for kicks i went on the ubuntu irc channel for a couple hours last night. .. thousands of rude people jabbering at once looking for answers... you mention "terminal" and they dump you so all answers have to be "clickable" ... it was actually kinda fun but i'm not going back anytime soon.
