Description: Instant Messenger, focusing on video and calling.
URL: www.skype.com
License: Freeware? (with some optional paid features, such as making a call to a phone from your PC)

I'd love to see Skype in the repos Smiley

evidently the slackbuild of skype works pretty well in wolvix: (see thread) but yes, it would be nice to have it in the repo.

I'll get on making a package for Skype. It should defiantly be in the repo, or I won't hear the end of it. Tongue

EDIT: A package for Skype is now in the repo. It's the static build, so you won't need to install Qt.

Awesome, great job!

Finally; a developer who seems to understand the users. I have dealt with developers before who totally trashed their projects simply because they refuse to meet the demands of the community.

I think that Wolvix has the potential to become a well-known distro, especially when packages like these are included Smiley

Well I do try to listen to what you all want, and put my ego aside. I see no reason why I shouldn't include Skype. It's an easy package to make and it's a well known and popular application. I don't use Skype myself, but then again I don't use most of the software in Wolvix, as most of my computing time is used on making the distro. Smiley

Skype is awesome. Computer to computer is free, 2.5 cents per min anywhere else (your computer to a land line).
I use it quite a lot, especially when travelling (with my little netbook). Thanks for adding it.
